Financial Transparency and Your Rights
Federal Insurance: Medicare and Medicaid plans are not accepted.
For those who do not have insurance or are not using it, I provide a Good Faith Estimate before our first session that outlines the expected costs for the year. Whether you pursue services reimbursed by commercial insurance, a specialized 90-minute EMDR protocol, or services using sliding scale rates, you'll have a clear financial roadmap from day one.
Itemized estimates based on specialized treatment paths (e.g., standard psychotherapy vs. specialized EMDR protocols; services rendered under the Sliding Scale & Equitable Access program) will be provided upon scheduling or request.
Financial Equity & Accessibility
I believe that financial matters are an extension of the therapeutic relationship and should be addressed with honesty and care. My reduced-fee policy is designed to ensure that financial limitations do not become the sole barrier to receiving quality, trauma-informed care.
Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
Under the law, healthcare providers must give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.
This Good Faith Estimate is provided in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

How the Sliding Scale Works
I reserve a specific percentage of my caseload for reduced-fee clients. These rates are offered on an "Honor System" basis. While I do not require invasive financial documentation, we will discuss your household income, dependents, and overall financial experience to find a sustainable rate.
Intake Assessment:
Open Path Collective Clients: $70
All Other Clients Using Sliding Scale Rates: $75
Ongoing Sessions: Your specific rate is determined using an equitable guide, such as The Green Bottle scale, to help us navigate your financial privilege and needs together.
Waitlist: If all reduced-fee positions are currently filled, you may elect to be placed on a first-come, first-served waitlist that receives monthly updates on availability.
Guidelines for Equitable Access
To maintain the integrity of this program and ensure these appointments remain available for those in need, the following community agreements apply:
Frequency: To qualify for a reduced rate, we meet weekly or bi-weekly. This ensures consistent progress and clinical momentum.
Temporary Support: These rates are reviewed every 3 months. As your financial circumstances improve, I ask that you notify me so that your reduced-fee spot can be transitioned to another community member in need.
Attendance: My standard 24-hour cancellation policy applies. To protect my ability to offer these positions, consecutive no-shows or late cancellations may result in a return to the standard session fee.
Important Legal & Operation Notes
Insurance: By law, reduced fees cannot be combined with insurance. If you choose to use the sliding scale, you are electing to waive your insurance benefits.
Time of Day: Reduced rates are available for individual appointments scheduled before 4:00 PM.
Equitableness: You are entitled to the full benefits of therapy regardless of the fee you pay. I am committed to protecting your equal status as a valued member of this practice.
